Australia's Song for the Mute may not have the widespread name-recognition of other adidas Originals collaborators, but that hasn't stopped the 16-year-old imprint from delivering exciting takes on heritage over the last several seasons.
During Paris Fashion Week®, the brand's official Instagram account shared carousels dedicated to some of its latest projects branded with 3-Stripes. Part of its eighth capsule with the German sportswear institution, Song for the Mute's 008 range sees the Samba OG and all-new SL 72 Pro in color palettes and with vintage-inspired details that'll surely be enjoyed by long-time fans. The two canvases follow up collaborative takes on the Superstar, Adistar Cushion, Adizero PR, and Taekwondo Mei.

Song for the Mute's handling of the adidas Samba opts for a deconstructed update, primarily seen via the collapsable heel. High-quality suede and leather come together across three color schemes, which fall in line with some of the partnership's other earth tone-heavy drops. S.F.T.M. messaging appears throughout the project, cementing the Australian label's place in the annals of Three Stripes history.
Visually, the SL 72 Pro indulges in a similar "worn" aesthetic as its thin-soled counterpart, but it's rooted in modern performance. A decades-old upper design is modified with Song for the Mute's creative input and placed atop the same LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam midsole found on the ever-popular Adizero Evo SL running model. Cushioning is faux-aged while a speed-toggle lacing system joins a traditional setup.
Enjoy early looks of the Song for the Mute x adidas Originals FW26 Collection ahead. Items should launch via adidas.com by September.
