With summer fast-approaching, comfortable, breathable footwear is hitting its stride. Despite a plethora of options currently offered by the world's biggest brands, the ASICS GEL-1130™ and its SportStyle kin lead the charge.
Throughout the last year-and-a-half, the retro running silhouette has exploded in popularity throughout fashionable cities across the globe, replacing heritage basketball models in many cases. Ahead of summer, the 17-year-old design has appeared in all-new ensembles—including a black, silver, and pink makeover. Color-blocking and palette are reminiscent of a previously-seen "Icy Blue" pair, which suggests a larger collection is on the way.
The bulk of the GEL-1130™'s upper indulges in a vibrant pink tone, with synthetic overlays across the profiles enjoying shimmering black and silver hues. Underfoot, the technical sole unit keeps things on trend, with visible GEL™ technology at the heel opting for an almost-red update. The predominantly-dark tooling, however, allows for contrasting elements to revel in the spotlight.
Firm ASICS.com release details haven't been disclosed by the brand as of yet, but that's expected to change by the end of summer. The pair is priced at $100.
