If you’ve been following the happenings of the ASICS GEL-LYTE III of late, you’ll have noticed that the silhouette has been dabbling in some fairly unique finishes. From Sustainable Earth Day drops, to muddled Patch Work pairs, the split-tongued silhouette is never short of a reinvention. For its next release, it takes it shifts its split tongue into split-blocking, with opposing quilted nylon and paisley paneling the pair’s marquee feature.
Arriving without a hint of color, the monochrome makeup relies on material, pattern, and texture for contrast. Suede toes and overlays house the aforementioned split-blocked textiles; the lateral side showing quilted charcoal nylon, whilst the medial and heel host a black and white paisley print. Leather Tigerstripe overlays alternate, too, with lateral leaning on grey hues, whilst the medial is murdered out. SImple white embroidered branding hits the heel and ankle, and the pair is finished off with a no-frills sail midsole and black rubber outsole.
