They say that your 30s are the best years of your life — and when it comes to the lineup for the ASICS GEL-Lyte III for 2020, that saying appears to be ringing true. Sure, they had a great time in their 20s thanks to countless banger collabs from Ronnie Fieg, but it’s the decade ahead that we’re tipping we’ll see it’s best efforts yet. Joining a slew of OG releases and a home-homaged mita collaboration for its 30th anniversary year, comes a colorful camo-covered COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT collab that’s already captivating hardcore GELheads.
The pair was revealed on the Paris Fashion Week runway, but in-hand shots fluttered through days later, showing the pair in full detail. Playing heavily with hues, the CGD SHIRT GEL-Lyte III hams up Japanese Streetwear ethe, utilizing three very juxtaposed staples: camo prints, slate greys, and color. The former arrives on the underlays and midsoles, with the pair calmed down by cooling grey overlays. Surprisingly, the vibrant strikes of white on the Tiger overlays and laces add this pair’s biggest contrast pops — a color that’s also used on the lateral’s GEL-Lyte- III and CDG branding hits.
Grab a close-up look at the pair below, and expect these to find their way to retailers as part of the brand’s Fall/Winter ’20 Collection.
