The West NYC x Clarks "A Love Letter to West 72nd st." is Limited to 300 Pairs
Clarks Originals and West NYC are joining forces for their first-ever collaboration, a project that serves as a tribute to one of Manhattan’s most storied blocks. Titled “A Love Letter to West 72nd Street,” the release celebrates the small businesses, workers, and residents who have shaped the neighborhood for generations.
West 72nd Street has long embodied the idea that every block in New York is its own community. The partnership between Clarks and West NYC highlights exactly that—focusing not on influencer culture, but on the people who keep the block alive. The marketing campaign features real locals photographed in their daily environments, providing an honest snapshot of the neighborhood’s character.
This collaboration also marks a significant milestone in the 50-plus-year relationship between the Clark and Wasserman families. The project doubles as a tribute to Danny Wasserman, whose influence on West NYC and the block itself remains deeply felt. A message on the right shoe’s sockliner reads, “Honoring those who served to make 72nd Street an iconic block for footwear retail,” underscoring that sentiment.
The West NYC x Clarks Wallabee features a marled yarn upper blending yellow, blue, and grey tones, paired with the iconic crepe sole. Each pair is designed to reflect the personality and texture of the street it honors.
The release is limited to 300 pairs and launches November 22. In-store pairs will be available at 10 AM, followed by online availability at Noon EST on westnyc.com. Retail is set at $159.95 USD.
