Update 04.06.21 Well, after a canceled tournament in 2020, and a full year after our hopeful prediction, Baylor has finally done it. The Bears knocked out Gonzaga in a boilover yesterday — and it brought us back to this Concept Air Jordan 5 from last year. Congrats to Scott Drew and the entire team!

OG Post 03.09.20 // We are knocking on the door of the annual March Madness festival, and there’s plenty of buzz around the possibility of the Baylor Bears clinching their first-ever NCAA Tournament title. The Texan college hasn’t really made a dent in the tournament since the late 40s, but in 2020, the #1 seed in the South and currently 5th overall may very well make history on April 6th.

Like years prior, we’ve picked a few top-ranked teams and visualized their colors as conceptual Air Jordan Retros — including our widely-loved “Gonzaga” Air Jordan 6. This year, though, we’re banking on the Bears to come up big. To celebrate our selection, we’ve whipped up an Air Jordan 5, currently in its 30th anniversary year, that boasts the Bear’s green and gold.

Striking flashes of yellow jump off the muted green suede base, while tonal midsoles, liners, laces, and eyelets only add to the effect. Capping off the design is a semi-ice blue outsole and golden-yellow Jumpman branding in the rear.

Are you backing the Bears? Tell us your selection for the 2020 NCAA Tournament on Instagram and we might mock-up a special-edition colorway for you, too!
