Concept Lab // Air Mowabb x Air Jordan 1 “Trail End Brown”

When the ACG Air Mowabb first arrived in 1991, it created a lane of its own as a silhouette built for a wide range of outdoor activities. Tinker Hatfield, who sought to bring cross-training to the outdoors, designed the ACG icon using a Native American moccasin as inspiration. Today, we bring that inspiration to Jordan Brand for an ACG crossover of epic proportions.

It would have been too typical to select the famed Rattan colorway of the Mowabb, but instead, we opted for the lesser-known original “Trail End Brown” OG — a personal favorite for Fall. We could have just as easily chosen the Air Jordan 6 or 7 due to its similarities in overlays and the latter’s use of neoprene — but that would have been too expected. Instead, we went with the iconic Air Jordan 1. Here, we’ve replicated the neoprene over the collar and tongue and paired with like brown nubucks. A plastic Swoosh is akin to Tinker’s famous heel clip, while a flecked outsole pays tribute to the spotted rear insert. Accents pop in orange and golden-yellow, and the concept is complete with ACG branded tongues and insoles.

Take a look at our imagined pair here below (and the OG Mowabb further on) and be sure to tell us on social media your thoughts on the concept and if you’d love to see any other ACG x Air Jordan crossovers, be sure to drop us a line via our Contact Usform.
