Hiroshi Fujiwara and his Fragment Design imprint will return in partnership with Nike, Inc., this time infusing the label's distinct design elements into the classic Converse Weapon.
Hailing from the mid-1980s, the Weapon shares many similarities to the Air Jordan 1, a silhouette well-known to Fujiwara. Also familair to Fujiwara and the Nike, Inc. family of brands is the inherit Fragment colorscheme of white, blue, and black, most recently seen on thier co-branded effort with Travis Scott on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG.
In this new collaboration, vibrant "Sport Royal" touches bring the collar and sidewall logos to life, while the contrasting "Black" panels on the toe cap and "Y-Bar" heel accentuate Fujiwara's signature color scheme. The fragment Converse Weapon features a clean "White" leather composition that connects the contrasting elements.Beneath the shoe, the collaborative design presents a subtle yellowed finish, imparting a vintage feel to the overall aesthetic. Fujiwara’s signature lightning bolt logo is embossed on the lower lateral heel, providing the final piece to the imprint’s signature look.
Take a look at the official images of the pair below, and mark your calendar for the release on Converse.com and Nike.com on May 11th, priced at $140 USD. A complementary apparel collection, including a wool varsity jacket, will be released alongside the shoes.
