"Dinoco" Lightning McQueen Crocs Appear for Cars 20th Anniversary Drop

And just like that Disney & Pixar's Cars is 20 years old. To celebrate the occasion, The Walt Disney Company is teaming up with Crocs on special-editions of the ever-popular (and divisive) Classic Clog.

Earlier in the year, Shoe Palace launched a multi-item collection dedicated to Cars, but the impending project focuses on footwear.

In 2021, a pair of standard Lightning McQueen Crocs took over social media and wishlists everywhere, coupling a beloved fictional character and comfortable slip-on shoe. The pair launched amid the film franchise's 15th anniversary. The Cars 20th Anniversary is expected to go even bigger, bringing some of Disney & Pixar's characters to more laceless, comfortable footwear.

One of the first pairs to surface is a blue "Dinoco"-branded Classic Clog. The style features the same "95" seen on McQueen (a nod to 1995, the year of Pixar's first film release), and specifically nods to a scene in which Lightning imagines himself driving for Dinoco—the sponsor of Strip "The King" Weathers.

The special Classic Clog recreates the famed, seven-time Piston Cup champion well—from bumper to racing spoiler.

It's expected that other members from the Cars universe join the 20th anniversary drop, though the full scope of the latest collaboration between Crocs and Disney-Pixar remains to be disclosed. Expect commemorative Jibbitz™ charms, too.

A Ramone-inspired pair of Crocs has also surfaced ahead of Disney's D23 event, and will be exclusive to the fan fest.
