The controversies surrounding the artist formerly known as "Kanye West" are many. Countless folks have completely written off Ye due to his comments and behaviors, but what can't be ignored is his influence. Most recently, heritage from the once-popular Yeezy Foam Runner has appeared by way of Dingyun Zhang's Crocs Diffuser collaboration.
Raised in Beijing, educated in the United Kingdom, and now based in Shanghai, Dingyun Zhang keeps a relatively low profile. His work, however, has consistently raised eyebrows and made statements loud enough to gain admiration from the former "Mr. West" and his Yeezy team. Zhang's most recognizable branded item is his line of puffer jackets, but he also had a hand in the creation of the aforementioned Foam Runner. After dropping two capsules with Adidas Originals, the Mongolian-Chinese designer has teamed up with Crocs to deliver a familiar clog-like model.

Although the Crocs Diffuser isn't a one-to-one, re-branded recreation of Yeezy's iconic slip-on, it features similar design cues. Perforations at the forefoot and the "collar" opening immediately evoke images of the Foam Runner. Select color schemes strengthen the connection between both proposals.
It's important to note that two former leaders of Yeezy's design team are now at Crocs. Cesar Idrobo, Ye's former Head Sample Maker, is now the Colorado-based brand's Senior Creative Innovation Manager. The legendary Steven Smith transitioned from Head of Product Design for West Brands/DONDA to Head of Innovation Design and Vice President at Crocs.
Their prior work with Dingyun Zhang likely helped bring the Diffuser silhouette to life.
Enjoy official photos of some of the Crocs Diffuser styles by Dingyun Zhang ahead. Some pairs have launched over the last half-year, while others are on the way. Pairs are made available via Crocs.com for $85.
