Pokémon x Crocs Classic Clog Features Charizard Versus Blastoise
Satoshi Tajiri's Pokémon has been delivering heartfelt moments to countless folks across the globe since 1996. Although it began as a concept for a role-playing game, Pokémon has become a full-fledged brand with its own universe. Animated series and retail experiences have helped proliferate Tajiri's idea well beyond its first decade, with collaborations with Crocs also helping along the way.
Having previously worked on a multi-pair collection inspired by Snorlax, Gengar, and Jigglypuff, the partnership will continue its work with the release of another Classic Clog dedicated to Charizard and Blastoise. Presumably part of a larger "Versus" Pack, the newly-surfaced pair features mismatched designs across right and left clogs. The former is clad in a black-and-orange gradient, and dons images of Fire emblems and Charmander's third evolution. By contrast, left shoe's feature a blue-animated Croslite™ upper covered in outsoles of Squirtle's third evolution and Water emblems. Jibbitz™ charms take on the forms of both Pokémon.
Elsewhere, heel straps and midsoles are stylized as flames and waves, nodding to each pocket monster's abilities. Poké Ball imagery replaced classic crocodile logos on the fastening strap's hinges, while Pokémon branding on the rear indulges in its iconic yellow finish. Lastly, the slip-resistant outsole keeps things simple in a pitch-dark makeover, allowing for the top-halves to revel in the spotlight.
