Under the watchful eye of artistic director Kim Jones, a passionate sneakerhead himself, Dior has been expanding its footwear repertoire. After making waves on social media for some time, the brand-new Dior B33 is finally set to make its grand entrance.
While the B33 may appear as a low-cut cousin to Dior's celebrated B23 model, it's much more than a variation. Ostensibly drawing inspiration from the enduring Plimsoll sneakers, the B33 incorporates contemporary alterations that perfectly embody Dior's flair for the sophisticated and the urbane.
The design finds its identity in the fusion of materials and colors - from the refined combination of suede and Dior’s hallmark ‘Oblique’ jacquard fabric to the more daring pairing of suede with dyed mohair wool panels. Furthermore, Dior’s recurring motif graces the heel and toe bumpers of the rubber sole, seamlessly melding heritage with innovation. The B33 flaunts thick slub shoelaces and metallic eyelets to round out the classic sneaker aesthetic.
But there's more; It is accompanied by an exclusive capsule within the Dior Tears collaboration, joining forces with Tremaine Emory’s Denim Tears.
This ensemble takes a detour from the classic path and ventures into the rugged territory. With a generous employment of sturdy materials such as denim and canvas, and an artful play of heritage colors like indigo and brown, this collection exudes an earthy, robust charm contrasting with the polished elegance of the regular B33.
Mark your calendars, as the Dior B33 is set to be unveiled on July 13 at select retailers and Dior.com globally.
