Lakers Staffer Said if LeBron Was Out for 10 Games the Team Would Be in Danger of Missing Playoffs
Y’all sure about that?
The worst thing that can possibly happen to the Los Angles Lakers would be an injury to LeBron James.
Despite suffering a groin injury in the Lakers Christmas Day victory over the Golden State Warriors, James is considered to be day-to-day. But what if the injury turned out to be more serious?
Well, one Lakers staffer said that the team would be in danger of missing the playoffs even if LeBron was out for 10 games:
One Lakers staffer thinks that LeBron James missing even 10 games could lead to the team missing the playoffs, which makes how many days he’s “day-to-day” even more crucial. https://t.co/HAJw04VLgc pic.twitter.com/4hSdsAwlIa

While there’s no way to underestimate LeBron’s importance to this Lakers team this season, to say that the team would be in danger of missing the playoffs because of 10 games is pretty nuts.
The Lakers currently sit at 20-14 on the season, and even if they were to lose 10 games in a row, they would still have more than enough time to recover and sneak in the Western Conference playoffs.
Then again, does this speak more about the rest of the Lakers’ roster being incapable of getting the job done without LeBron? We know how valuable LeBron is, but you mean to tell us that a roster this talented would completely go off the rails if the King missed 10 games?
The Lakers did fine without LeBron during their matchup against the Warriors as they beat the two-time defending champions soundly by a score 127-101. We’re not saying that would happen night in and night out, but it’s clear this cast of players is capable of winning games.
