Shawn Kemp’s Picture on Basketball-Reference Needs to Be Changed Immediately
Remember back in sixth grade when picture day was the most important day of the year because you needed to look good for your crush? Well, for some, picture day doesn’t always go as planned.
Have a look at Shawn Kemp’s old photo displayed on Basketball-Reference:
It feels like it should be a federal crime for this to be Shawn Kemp’s headshot on Basketball-Reference pic.twitter.com/aqlEejoDBb

Looks like Kemp had a bit too much for breakfast before taking that photo.
To see what Kemp usually looked like during his playing days, here’s a photo from his time with the Seattle SuperSonics:
As you can see, Kemp’s appearance on Basketball-Reference is not at all what the former NBA All-Star looked like — at least when he was in his prime. This looks like he’s playing a street pickup league as a 40-year-old.
As the premier site for all statistical things in basketball history, Basketball-Reference should really change the photo so that fans can actually remember who Kemp was while sifting through NBA history.
During his playing career, Kemp was a force at power forward. Over his 15 seasons, he earned six All-Star nods and was named to the All-NBA Second Team for three consecutive seasons (1994-1996). A player with such an impressive resume really deserves better than that picture.\
BR wasted no time in changing it to something a little more flattering:
