First Looks at the Family and Friends Air Jordan 5 “Quai 54”

Though the world’s biggest streetball competition didn’t go ahead as planned in 2020, the desire for Jordan Brand’s Quai 54 collection didn’t diminish. And with 2021’s tournament still tentative, Mike and co. aim to keep the event’s spirit and tradition alive through the release of the 2021 Jordan Quai collection, the next of which has been revealed today in the form of an Air Jordan 5 “Quai 54” — the marquee release of the collection. This is the second time the silhouette has seen some Summer streetball action, with the French tournament adopting the model back in 2011. This year, though, arrives in vastly different stylings.

As tradition goes, each year the event reveals a new pattern print. This year it arrives in red, white, and black — a familiar combination for Jordan Brand. As seen on the collection’s Air Jordan 35 Low, the hues featured in the tournament-specific striped, patchwork squares on the liner, laces, and insoles. The hues are then sprinkled throughout the white leather-based release, with bold black and red accents at the eyestays, midsole paint, and outsole pods. Meshed mid panels and tack-on heel tags feature the tournament’s Q motif, with the pair then completed by an OG-inspired reflective tongue.

With no current tournament date set, and with Summer on the horizon, it’s very likely that we may not see the tournament take shape for the second year in a row — but we will be expecting these beauties to hit shelves soon. A first look at the 2021 Air Jordan 5 “Quai 54” Family & Friends pair has been provided by@973raffleboyz. Said to be limited to just 54 pairs, the special-edition pair differs from the retail release only through its choice of material and hue. Here, it’s black suede that sits on the upper in contrast to the staple white leather on the retail pair. All other details remain consistent, from silver tongues to patterned liners and everything inbetween.
