A Ma Maniere has retailer has found itself at the end of some of the most desirable footwear collaborations of the past few years. It’s not surprising, given James Whitner’s impeccable eye for details and a desire to tell crucial and timely stories. Their “Raised By Women” Air Jordan 3 from earlier this year has already been hailed sneaker of the year by a fair margin, with the pair’s story beaming and an execution that’s beyond belief. Now it appears that the retailer has another pair in the works, the A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 1 High which has been revealed today for the very first time.

Information leaked back in January this year had a mysterious “Sail/Burgundy Crush” creation pegged for the back-end of 2021, but only now has the extension of the pair come to light. First looks show that AMM has picked up where they left off, delivering another premium pairing that’s packed to the brim with luxurious finishes and refined detailing. Uppers of fine sail suede cover the pair, which arrives here in the silhouette’s OG Metallic blocking. The collars in which the ’85’s colors sit, show a premium reptilian finish in Burgundy Crush, with Swooshes following suit. Liners, too, feature the elegant hue, and again opt for a quilted satin finish; the same seen on the aforementioned Air Jordan 3. Moving forward to the tongue, you can see its sport as full suede upper and higher profile and features co-branded tags at the tip. Beneath the ankle flap, we see a quotation from MJ himself, reading ‘You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them” — perhaps a hint at the pair’s overarching message. The exterior is completed by burgundy laces, and a sail midsole capped with more of the deep red pigment underfoot. Finally, the insoles show a special tag reading “Airness by A Ma Maniere for Air Jordan”.

A Ma Maniére has confirmed that their Air Jordan 1 collaboration will release November 24th on amamaniere.com. A wider release on Nike.com and select retailers is scheduled for December 3.
