The Air Jordan 1 Couture “Defiant” Release Has Been Pushed Back

Another One.

The Jordan 1 train is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down in 2019, with Jordan Brand already going H.A.M. on the iconic 1985 silhouette. So why not one more, eh?

Introducing the Air Jordan 1 Couture, a luxurious take on the Air Jordan 1, featuring a slightly higher cut, premium materials, and excellent attention to detail. Said to be inspired by the craftsmanship that goes into luxury Italian sports cars (I can’t make the connection, but that’s an official statement,) the sneaker reunites two of Michael’s loves; the Air Jordan 1 and luxury cars.

One of the first colorways, aptly named “Defiant,” is a clear shout out to Mike’s defiance of the NBA’s ban on his OG Air Jordan 1’s back in 1985. It adorns a Black leather upper with a Red Banned-like racing stripe wrapping from forefoot to forefoot via the heel, sitting atop an al-Muslin sole unit. Thicker laces have been added, along with a leather debossed tongue tag for a premium touch.

Two more pairs are due to follow in March and April, on pair donning a mix of Black/Tour Yellow-White-Gym Red, the other in Court Purple/Sail-University Gold-Black. Stay tuned for first looks of those pairs.
