Where to Buy the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Africa”
Jordan Brand’s epic “Fearless Ones” collaborative capsule from 2019 spawned some of the most memorable Mids in years. From the vividly-colored Blue the Great take to the mismatched Melody Ehsani makeup, Jordan Brand really let the creators spread their wings. Arguably the best from the collection was Parisian-based Maison Château Rouge, who, as directed by co-founder Youssouf Fofana’s flamboyant use of color, pulled inspiration from his. African roots. Now it appears that Jordan Brand will take a leave out of MCR’s book, delivering this heavily-textured yet less vibrant Air Jordan 1 Mid “Africa” as part of the brand’s general release rollout in 2022.
Working through shades of red, maroon, copper, and off-white are a bevy of multi-textured panels, ranging from pebbled leather to woodgrain-like toes and heels. Collars come in a plush, almost sponge-like weave, whilst reptilian-textured leathers are worked into the ankle flap and forefoot overlays. Cracked leather Checks sit at the midfoot in a weathered white, with sole units of sail and maroon picking up the pair underfoot. Lastly, Jordan Brand has finished off the design with pink Africa/Jumpman tags in the rear — its official story is yet to be identified.
