This Air Jordan 1 Mid Recalls the Jordan Flight Club Program of the Late-1980s

Jordan Brand isn't afraid to reference itself. In fact, its consistent dialogue with the past is one of the reasons so many fans continue to celebrate the imprint despite Michael Jordan stepping away from professional basketball in 2003. The brand's latest Air Jordan 1 Mid retro harkens back to the late 1980s—specifically to the time's Jordan Flight Club initiative.

A membership program founded before the spread of the internet, Jordan Flight Club offered the most loyal enthusiasts of "His Airness" a chance at exclusive information and products. An Air Jordan 4 "Flight Club" retro launching January 2026 reminisces on the program in the same fashion as the newly-surfaced AJ1 Mid. The platform's Jumpman-donning emblem is found on the insoles of the latest Air Jordan, as well as on its custom shoe box. The bulk of the sneaker, however, abandons the Chicago Bulls-friendly tones once associated with the membership in favor of a modern "Pale Ivory/Black/Muslin/Racer Pink" ensemble.

A special Jordan Flight Club hangtag rounds out the ornate style.
