For decades, Michael Jordan famously resisted allowing Boston’s signature green onto his own sneakers. The rivalry between the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics defined the early part of Jordan’s career, with the franchise regularly standing in his way during the 1980s. That tension kept Celtics-inspired hues off his signature line for years. But over time, the brand has gradually embraced the color through several themed releases. The Air Jordan 1 Mid "Lucky Green" continues that shift, loosely channeling 2023’s Air Jordan 1 High OG "Lucky Green" with a few material twists.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid "Lucky Green" sticks closely to classic "Black Toe" color blocking. White leather covers the toe box and mid panels, while soft black suede wraps the forefoot, eyestays, collar, and Swoosh. At the back, Lucky Green leather fills the heel and ankle flap, delivering the Celtics-coded color hit that defines the pair.
A few details separate this release from its High OG inspiration. The Air Jordan 1 Mid "Lucky Green" swaps in white nylon tongues instead of leather, finished with a black Jumpman logo at the top. The black suede overlays also shift the feel slightly toward lifestyle wear compared to the smoother leather build seen on many OG-inspired pairs.
One of the more interesting additions sits near the forefoot: a small yellow-gold mini Swoosh embroidered into the lateral toe overlay. It’s a subtle touch that quietly nods to Boston’s championship pedigree without disrupting the familiar Jordan 1 color blocking.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid "Lucky Green" is expected to release during Summer/Fall 2026 via Nike.com/Jordan and select retailers.
