As the Air Jordan 1 continues to celebrate its 40th anniversary, it keeps emerging in brand new styles, exploring sports other than basketball. Most recently, the pair has take on a "Shattered Backboard" makeover for its latest appearance as MCS baseball cleats.
Officially clad in a "Starfish/White/Black" color scheme, the newly-surfaced pair draws inspiration from an Air Jordan first seen in 2015. Inspired by Michael Jordan's exhibition tour in Italy in the mid-1980s, the orange-and-black ensemble has animated numerous releases since the mid-2010s. Its appearance on the AJ1 High, however, is its most emblematic.
Unlike many other MCS Baseball Cleat offerings, the "Shattered Backboard" look forgoes patent leather paneling in favor of a matte leather build. The design choice keeps heritage intact despite its application for another sport.
Enjoy official photos of the latest Team Jumpman baseball cleats ahead. Pairs should release via Nike.com/Jordan soon for $150.
