Reinterpretations of Signature Air Jordan sneakers are nothing new for the Jumpman brand, with the storied linage often serving as the catharsis for trainers and team models alike. Not often, though, does a reimagination get given the “Air Jordan X” title, but for the brand’s Comfort series, it is the case. With said title comes lofty expectations. The Air Jordan 1 High Zoom Comfort has certainly held its ground since its introduction in 2020, but just how the all-new Air Jordan 11 Low CMFT will fair in 2021 is yet to be seen. One of the first colorways to test the waters is a remake of a classic, with this Air Jordan 11 Low CMFT “Tuxedo” tacking the iconic theme first found on the AJ11 Low back in 2013

Unlike the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT which kept the majority of the design lines intact — albeit in a deconstructed manner — the Air Jordan 11 Low CMFT post for a more modernized redesign. Sleeker liner and an altered shape host familiar cues, including the wavy forefoot overlays and mesh uppers, though the rest of the design is somewhat unrecognizable. Extra mesh overlays at the vamp link into a solid leather rear section.. This forms a familiar low-cut profile, though the tongue is risen much higher than the design we’re most familiar with. Sole units take on a new shape, too, though it’s quite obviously inspired by Tinker’s original. This pair is decked out in the familiar black and white, the silhouette’s signature patent leather is swapped for one which is tumbled. Most notably, the pair’s upper features an ultra-90’s color swish graphic that’s reminiscent of “formal” wear from the 1990s — a perfect inclusion to the pair inspired by a penguin suit.

A release date for this Air Jordan 11 Low CMFT “Tuxedo” has not been identified, but with official images appearing and with Spring/Summer on the horizon, you should expect to see these land at select stores and Nike.com this July
