Nike, Inc. might've started as a running-focused company, but it's gone on to dominate a multitude of sports over the last half-century. Thanks to the likes of Tiger Woods, the swoosh emblem became synonymous with success within the world of golf. The Jordan Brand sub-label has also branched out into the 18-hole game, drawing inspiration from His Airness' authentic passion for the sport. Come June, the imprint is set to release an Air Jordan 14 Golf Shoe inspired by the US Open tournament.
Shared across the sneakersphere by Jacques Slade, the first-look at the pair reveals a simple, but elegant "White/Black/Metallic Copper" color scheme. The medley of tones and its layout across the 27-year-old design fall in line with other golf-ready iterations of Michael Jordan's 14th signature sneaker. Premium leather and the bulk of the midsole opt for a clean "colorless" finish that allows for the slightest contrast to revel in the spotlight. Ferrari-informed Jumpman badges on the lateral profile indulge in a brown shimmer; the mid-foot shank visible underfoot follows suit. Other branding elements on the pair also partake in the "Metallic Copper" fun. Underfoot, the reworked outsole features seven removable spikes, done in all-"Black."
Firm Nike.com/Jordan release details have yet to be disclosed by the Jumpman family as of writing, but that's expected to change as Thursday, June 12, inches closer.
Away from the world of golf, designs like the Nike VaporFly 4 and Adidas Adizero Prime X 3.0 Strung continue to elevate the sport of running to new heights.
