The Air Jordan 2 Returns in New “Raptors” Colorway
Reigning NBA Champs the Toronto Raptors will be celebrated on another retro Air Jordan, this time with a franchise-themed Air Jordan 2 tipped for release in Spring. The “Raptors” Air Jordan 2 follows in the footsteps of Drake’s Toronto-inspired Air Jordan 4, which was famous de-Drake branded during his sneaker free agency, but then popped up with Aubrey’s John Hancock months later after sorting out his beef with the Swoosh. This pair is unlikely to be linked to Drake, though, as he already has another release with the Jumpman slated mere weeks prior.
Reported by sneaker sleuth @zSneakerheadz, the cult-followed silhouette will return this year in a University Red/Black-Court Purple color scheme. First looks are yet to surface, so Z has supplied us with a speculative mock-up for the release, based on the color listing provided. It will arrive in predominately red, but how the accents and sole units are blocked still, at this stage, remain a mystery.
Take a peep at the imagined pair below, and look for the Air Jordan 2 “Raptors” to hit select Jumpman cohorts and Nike.com on March 5th for $190. Keep it locked on our Twitter Feed for any further updates, including first looks and a comprehensive Where to Buy Guide for the release!
