With weeks of teasers, on-foot, and official looks, we’re still waiting in the wings for the official debut of the Air Jordan 36; Jayson Tatum’s Olympic PEs were meant to touch down this month, but has since been pulled from official release calendars. Perhaps this new White/Gold Air Jordan 36 “Glory” will be the one to kick things off, with official images of the pair hitting Nike servers.
Though its inspiration is not confirmed, it does appear to derive from either nautical endeavors (Mike does own an $80 Million superyacht, after all) or the Olympic games. Two vastly different theories, I know, but take one look at the insoles (and hidden upper layer) and you can see the plausibility. On one hand, the colorful motifs mimic the international maritime signal flags (though none of them actually are) — and on the other hand, the colors represented are those found on the Olympic flag. The exterior is no help, either, with an all-white and metallic gold construction relevant to both. Either way you choose to look at it, the colorway is nice, crisp, and classy. Add to that the inclusion of premium leathers, metallic gold hardware, and elegant debossing, and you’ve certainly got a decent drop on your hands.
