The Air Jordan 39 "Gym Red" Is in the Mood for Love
Although much attention is paid to its retro roster of products, Jordan Brand continues to be a performance-basketball company. As such, the Nike, Inc. subsidiary releases one marquee hoops shoe per year, combining both MJ's winning legacy and the Oregon-based institution's Research & Development findings to produce top-quality footwear. The current Air Jordan 39 is the brand's latest effort.
Unveiled ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season, the sneaker is technically Mike's 39th signature model. Although he doesn't lace up the pair on the hardwood, his cast of Jordan-sponsored athletes continues to represent for him at the highest level, while also cementing winning legacies for themselves. The latest makeover to land on the Jordan 39 takes on a bold 'Gym Red' hue that's equal parts Chicago Bulls-heritage and Valentine's Day-ready.
The sneaker's jacquard-like upper works well with the ruby-red color on the newly-surfaced pair, while also allowing for previous makeups to introduce experimental styles to the Air Jordan series. The sidewall cupsole inspired by #23's cross step also indulges in the Feb. 14-friendly tone. ZoomX foam and accents throughout the shoe deviate in 'White' contrast but don't detract from the AJ39's titular hue.
Enjoy official photos of the festive Jordan 39 ahead. A firm Nike.com launch has been confirmed for Feb. 11. The 'Gym Red' basketball sneaker is priced at $200.
