Ahead of March Madness 2025, Jordan Brand has gifted special Air Jordan 4 Player-Exclusive (PE) retros to its sponsored basketball programs. The University of Houston Cougars are amongst the lucky bunch.
Previously, the Texas-based squad received school-specific footwear and apparel product. Having signed on in 2020, the relationship between the Houston Cougars and Nike, Inc. is still young, but the newly-surfaced Air Jordan showcases where the partnership is heading.
As a Player-Exclusive product, the sneakers won't see a release to the general public. Instead, members of the basketball program are (in theory) the sole owners of these pairs. The Cougars' latest gift from #23 opts for an understated black and grey color scheme. High-quality materials, however, have been deployed across the luxurious retro. Like the 'First Class' edition gifted to select WNBA players in 2023, the Houston-based team's PE features golden Jumpman branding; basketballs on the iconic MJ logo are replaced with shimmering gems, marking the special nature of the shoe. A hangtag donning UH branding rounds out the pair.
Other squads to have gotten a Jordan 4 PE this season include: the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and University of Florida Gators.
