Jordan Brand has officially unveiled the Air Jordan 41, a testament to its commitment to push the boundaries within performance basketball footwear.
Although the silhouette is built upon a 40-year legacy of winning and innovation, it helps transition the Air Jordan line into the future, further marking a clear distinction between fashionable retro product and cutting-edge game shoes.
As with so many signature models before it, the Air Jordan 41 has a story-driven inspiration at its center: gemstones. Leo Chang and Donald "DK" Kelsey, Senior Creative Director and Senior Director, respectively, at Jordan Brand spearheaded the new design, referencing Michael Jordan's "diamond in the rough" story, his elite on-court defense, and affinity for innovation.
The shoe has been unveiled in Shanghai and debuts in China on Friday, Aug. 28, before launching globally via Nike.com/Jordan during Fall 2026 for $205.

Air Jordan 41 Tech Specs
Chang, Kelsey, and team used insights from hundreds of athletes across every level of basketball to ensure the Air Jordan 41 was an improvement from the Air Jordan 40.
An early version of the silhouette included a mid-cut cuff that was ultimately abandoned after feedback from dozens of voices—including MJ.
The AJ41's design features:
- Nano Print Mesh Upper: A new-to-Jordan-Brand engineered material that's lightweight, flexible & breathable. The advanced woven construction delivers game-ready containment & unlocks different expression applications.
- ZoomX Foam Midsole & Zoom Strobel: Full-length cushioning system offering high impact absorption & energy return in a lightweight package.
- Air Zoom Heel Unit: Airbag stacked beneath the Zoom Strobel, helping with heel-landing & making transitions onto the forefoot more dynamic.
- Carbon Fiber & TPU Shank: Lightweight element providing torsional rigidity & stability. Designed to shimmer to tell gemstone-inspired story.
- Omni-directional Traction: HART rubber includes herringbone pattern that enables rapid changes in direction on both sides of the court.
A TPU window appears on the outsole, revealing part of the Air Jordan 41's technology in the same way high-performance cars often showcase part of its engine.

Design Evolution & Gemstone Colorways
Jordan Brand's designers are aware of the inspiration goldmine that is the Air Jordan signature series, but they've intentionally rejected the use of heritage colorways and design cues for the Air Jordan 41—all in an effort to ensure the game shoe is still pushing boundaries.
Materials-wise, the AJ41 abandons the heavier, more traditional leather and suede seen on the AJ40, opting instead for thinner textiles.
Eight inaugural colorways of the newest Jordan Basketball sneaker draw inspiration from gemstones that mirror Michael Jordan's mentality on-and-off-the-court:
- Ruby: Strength; a nod to MJ's two legendary three-peats in Chicago
- Quartz: Energy
- Tiger's Eye: Courage
- Amethyst: Intuition; MJ's birthstone
- Jade: Balance
- Meteorite: Transformation
- Pink Diamond: Passion
- Opal: Creativity; a nod to MJ's alma mater
Numerous special pairs of the Air Jordan 41 are expected throughout the next year.

Air Jordan 41 Release Date
Jordan Brand is following up the Air Jordan 41's unveiling in Shanghai with a limited launch in China on Aug. 28. A wider global release hasn't been confirmed as of yet, but Team Jumpman has shared that the shoe's worldwide drop will take place during fall.
"The Air Jordan 41 prepares me for every movement; it gives me confidence in every cut, read and possession," said Jordan Brand athlete Napheesa Collier in an official press release. "When you trust your shoes like that, it makes all the difference."
Stephon Castle of the San Antonio Spurs echos a similar sentiment: "The 41 matches the way I like to compete. It’s built for players who impact the game on both ends. I trust it every possession because it keeps me feeling quick, connected and ready to react. When you’re playing with confidence, you can focus on being aggressive and letting your game take over."
