2020’s Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red 3M” Release to Coincide with 30th Anniversary of MJ’s Career-High 69 Point Game
…yeah, but EIGHTEEN rebounds too 😳
Jordan Brand will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5 in 2020 — a year that’s sure to be packed full of high-tongued, padded-ankle heat — including the return of the fan-favorite Air Jordan 5 Fire Red 3M — of which, its release will coincide with another big MJ anniversary; his career-high 69 point clinic against the Cavs.
Originally releasing back in 1990, the OG Air Jordan 5 has privy to many classic MJ moments, including his one-time wear of jersey #12 against Orlando,. But nothing stacks up to his scoring display on March 28th, 1990, where he showed the Cleveland Cavs just how good he can be — and we’re not just talking scoring. Mike was on a tear that day, raking in an insane 18 rebounds (7 offensive), 6 assists, 4 steals, and a block.
Take a peep at the highlights of the game below:
The re-release of the OG Air Jordan 5 Fire Red 3M will release 30 years to the day from the incredible performance, and it’s expected to arrive in it’s true OG form, with #M reflective tongues, icy outsoles, and Nike Air heel branding — but it’s still unclear if we’ll be getting the PE #23 etching on the side, but we’ll keep you in the loop regarding the specifics. Stay tuned for more, including first looks!
