Where to Buy the Air Jordan 5 Low Doernbecher

Following a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Doernbecher Freestyle program returns later this month, when the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital will officially unveil the new collection virtually on February 25th. But it appears we won’t have to wait that long for a first peep at the collection, with a very first (suspected) look at this year’s Air Jordan 5 Low Doernbecher appearing online today.

Designed by patient Michael Wilson, first looks show an insight into the young man’s life via a multitude of colors, textures, and playful finishes, like fighter jet-inspired eyes under the midfoot mesh to match the teeth below, multi-color liners and aglets, and take Flight branding on the lateral panel. Blue suede uppers are riddled with Mac n Cheese motifs — and even has a matching dubrae to go — as well as added heel pulls and MDW insignia in the reat.

The Doernbecher Freestyle patient-designers for 2022 include Ayman Wamala, Catalina Vasquez, Cidni O’Brien, Maylee Phelps, Michael Wilson, Sam David Phelps, and Zoe Taaffe

Since 2004, the program has raised more than $30 million to help save lives, develop new treatments and provide the best care for kids. Proceeds from the event and profits from the sale of the Freestyle collection will benefit Doernbecher’s area of greatest need.

The virtual unveiling of the 2022 Doernbecher Freestyle collection will take place on February 25th at 6:00 pm PST / 9:00 pm EST. Tickets for the event can be purchased here for $50 USD.
