Air Jordan 5 “Top Three” on the Way for 2020
2020 marks the 30th anniversary for the beloved Air Jordan 5. When it first touched down in 1992, it was like nothing we’d ever seen before. It was the first hoops sneaker to don the now-infamous and widely used 3M reflective tech, and it’s fighter jet-inspired, hight-tongued, padded ankled aesthetic became an instant classic. Now, to go along with a slew of Jordan 5 releases for 2020 (including an Alternate Purple Grape and the return of the OG “Fire Red 3M”) comes this a celebratory “Top Three” Air Jordan 5, which honors the three remaining OG colorways that won’t be seeing a release in 2020.
News broken by @Mr_Unloved1s has pegged the pair, which is said to incorporate the Fire Red (Black Tongue), Black Metallic and Grape colorways, for release at some stage in 2020 — but that’s all the info we have at the minute. From that info, we’ve whipped up another “What The”-style colorway for the 5 — but like our original mock-up of this year’s Air Jordan 4 “What The”, the blocking will likely change. Here’s hoping we get one black and one white shoe this time! Stay tuned for more info over the coming months.
