2020 has been a year to forget for a lot of reasons, with COVID wreaking havoc causing widespread postponements and cancelations of pretty much every event. For hoops fans, we were lucky to see a restructure of the remainder of the NBA season, but events like March Madness, Quai 54, EYBL, and the Jordan Brand Classic were canned. Thankfully, the aligning footwear options weren’t canceled, with the UNC Air Jordan 3 hitting in March, and the recent Quai collection touching down earlier this month. Now the annual JBC Air Jordan retro has surfaced, and boy is it something.
It appears that the brand had some epic plans in place for their annual high school hoops program, but we do get to check out their player-exclusive footwear, with pairs having surfaced today via @zSneakerheadz. The subtle-yet-statement design features a white leather upper paired with tonal patent heel and toe guards, and a matching white rubber outsole. Pops of punchy pink hit the rear pulls, as well as the heel, sole and tongue branding, before ushering in an iridescent green-to-blue finish across the rear medallion, eyelets, and midsole. The latter is flecked with more pops of pink, and the pair is capped off with JBC branded insoles.
Take a look at the promo pair here below, and with pairs not set to release to the public, you’ll have to accept that this is the close you’ll probably get to the sneaker.
