Jordan Brand is giving something back to one of it’s most loyal supporters, who is known for her longstanding relationship with Shoe Palace, by giving her her very own Air Jordan 1 sneaker.

Lovingly known as “SP Gina,” the school teacher has found a unique way to bond, teach and influence her students through sneakers. She has taken on the responsibility to change the views and traditional methods of today’s educational system for a better tomorrow. And now, In honor of teacher appreciation week, Jordan Brand will be set to release a special edition Air Jordan 1 to celebrate the inspirational lady.

The pair swaps out the traditional leather build for reflective-black ballistic mesh, draping the entire sneaker from throat to toe. Debossed and stitched-on leather Wings logo arrive on the collar, and it sits atop a blacked-out midsole and red rubber outsole. Finishing off the design are special edition “SP Gina” branded insoles. The release will also be accompanied by co-branded merch.

The SP Gina collection will debut at the very first Shoe Palace to open its doors 26 years ago, SP Bascom. People who show up at 2206 Business Circle in San Jose, California on May 25th, 2019 will have a chance to purchase the SP Gina Air Jordan 1 HI OG before its available nationwide on June 1st. Customers will have to earn the right to buy the exclusive sneakers by taking a Michael Jordan scantron test that will be given by SP Gina herself! If you pass the test, you can be one of the first in the world to take a pair of SP Gina sneakers home.
