Brace the Elements in Style with the Air Jordan Skyline GORE-TEX Jacket
Jordan Brand has no plans of shifting its focus away from performance basketball, but it continues to explore other areas, brining #23's winning legacy to golf, baseball, and the greater lifestyle realm. As it continues to celebrate its 40th anniversary, the eponymous imprint keeps repackaging tidbits of its history for old and new audiences alike. It's recently released an Air Jordan Skyline GORE-TEX Jacket in time for spring's (snow and) showers.
Protective against the elements, the jacket features industry-leading GORE-TEX lining to keep water out. Nike's own Storm-FIT ADV technology contributes to the package, also offering a windproof setup. Other functional components to the item include: a chin guard, adjustable cuffs, and bungees in the hood. And while important in their own right, each element simply plays a supporting role to the jacket's artwork.
Akin to previous retros of the Air Jordan 1, the latest apparel product from Jordan Brand tells the story of Michael Jordan's iconic jump in front of Chicago's skyline. Taken in the mid-1980s, the picture printed across the GORE-TEX-assisted jacket ultimately inspired Nike, Inc.'s design of the Jumpman logo. A young Jordan was captured in flight while wearing his first signature model's 'Black Toe' color-blocking, as well as Air Jordan tracksuit pieces that've been reissued several times since their '80s launch.
