Though it’s barely seen shelves, the Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comforthas risen to popularity vicariously through leaked colorways — most of which are still yet to touch down on U.S. soil. Despite this, the silhouette is about to get another shot in the arm, this time lending itself to a collaboration from Aleali May, a long-time Jordan collaborator, and world-renowned fashionista. The Aleali May x Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comfort will be the stylist and model’s fourth effort with the Jumpman, and her third Air Jordan 1 release.

Far removed from her debut monochrome Air Jordan 1 and her Millenial Pink Air Jordan 6, May returns to the vibrant hues found on her Viotech Air Jordan 1 High from late 2018. Though that pair was done in supple suede, this CMFT colorway reverts to classic leather construction — but that’s the only thing traditional about it. Mid-green uppers and racy royal blue overlays work against neutral leather tongues, chenille Wings patches, and midsoles, while a flash of golden-yellow underfoot adds even more oomph. Naturally, the pair is not void of any high-fashion enhancements, including extended satin collars, monogram tongue badging, and Aleali’s own sign-off on the left heel. The signature finish is replicated on the special-edition green and blue box, and the pair comes completed with four lace options.

A release for the Aleali May x Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comfort has been set by Japan’s atmos for March 24th. A Stateside and wider global release date is yet to be confirmed, but it is also believed to arrive shortly thereafter.
