6 Finals, 6 Wins, 6 Rings.

We’re only a year and a half of the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 6. Sure, we’ve still got a lot of celebrating left for the Air Jordan 4 and 5’s big 3-0, but Six has always been a special number for Michael. We all know he won 6 rings from 6 finals appearances. He also won his first ring in the Air Jordan 6, and his number 23: 2 x 3= 6.

In heavy anticipation of 2021’s 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 6 (also 30 years since MJ won his first Championship) we’ve contrived an Air Jordan 6 “Six Rings” Concept Collection, consisting of six Air Jordan 6s, across five different opponents (Lakers, Portland, Suns, Sonics and Jazz,) plus one very special edition pair that will blow your mind.

After kicking off our Concept Series with Mike’s opponents from the 1993 Finals, the Phoenix Suns, where MJ earned his third-consecutive ring, today we’re looking ahead to his fourth Championship, occurring three years later. It was Michael’s first Finals appearance since he retired in ’93, and, after returning in ’95, he and the Bulls bombed out to the Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals. and we all know that Michael was (and still is) not one to take an L well — at all. So we just knew the ’96 season was going to be something special.

And boy was it.

Jordan, who averaged 30.4 points, 2.2 steals, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game, led the Bulls to a 72-10 season, the best ever recorded at the time. He won the regular season MVP, All-Star MVP, the NBA Finals and the NBA Finals MVP.

He was on a tear.

Michael, in his own eyes, was humiliated by the loss to the Magic in the ECF the season prior, which spurred on his competitive streak. No other team stood a chance in 1995/96. But, to the Sonics credit, the pushed the Bulls to six games in the Finals, at least, and held Michael under his season averages for the series — but it still wasn’t good enough to prevent Chicago from claiming their fourth title, and the first of their second three-peat.
