Alternate ’91.
2014’s release of the Air Jordan 3 “Sport Blue” felt like more like an OG retro than a brand new colorway. Perhaps it felt that way because we saw the color combo of black and blue so early on on the Air Jordan 1. it was of course, not an OG, but when it hit the market, it became an instant classic.
Essentially, it’s just a Black Cement with red swapped out for Sport Blue, but it feels so right. Jordan Brand listened to the market, releasing a handful of releases in a similar color palette, including the blue suede Air Jordan 5, the “Hyper Royal” Air Jordan 13, Alternate Motorsport 4sand the upcoming “Game Royal” Air Jordan 12.
We’ve been fans of the color combo, too, with our “Nightwing” Air Jordan 5 and “Jimmy Butler” Air Jordan 12Concepts — but we think there’s always room for more. And this Air Jordan 6 would be a welcome addition to the Jordan family.
There is, of course, already an OG “Sport Blue” Air Jordan 6, which makes this alternate version even more relevant to the Jordan series. And just like the Jordan 3 of the same name — it feels so right.
