Contrast Stitching Returns on the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Phantom”
2018 was a big, big year for the Air Jordan 1. A ton of clean releases, a lot of easy cops made a lot of people happy. But of course, we live in an internet age, so people needed something to complain about.
—— “There are too many Jordan 1 releases”
—— “They’re fucking up the Jordan 1”
Mind you, these are the same guys that complain about the good ‘ol days of walking into Foot Locker to pick up any pair of Js they wanted right off the shelf.
But, for the most part, people are happy with the availability of the Air Jordan 1. And with a handful of aesthetically pleasing Jordan 1s already scheduled, like the Crimson Tint or Shattered Backboard 3.0, it looks like the good times will keep on rolling. Next to join the growing lineup of 85s is this all-new “Phantom” colorway that carries a similar aesthetic to the much-loved OG “Metallic” series.
This release arrives in a classic White, Red and Black mix, done up primarily in white leathers with a bold hit of University Red on the ankle. Black detailing hits the timeless Wings logo, but the focal point for the sneaker is the return of contrast stitching, seen throughout the upper and along the Swoosh. Jagged stitching hit the foam tongue for something a little different, with the familiar OG Nike Air tag sitting centrally on the tongue.
A global release for the Air Jordan 1 “Phantom” is scheduled for March 16th. Until the date arrives, enjoy a detailed look below, courtesy of SVD. Stay tuned for the comprehensive Where to Buy Guide!
