Not only does the silhouette borrow ket design elements from the championship sneakers worn by Michael Jordan, but the hybridized Jordan 6 Rings has also singled out some of the most treasured Jordan Brand color stories for inspiration. For its latest installment, the Jordan 6 Rings “Altitude”, the brand goes way back to 2005 when an Air Jordan 13 of the same name released that was inspired by Mike’s black cat on-court nature.
Though it brings with it an entirely new mix of colors and materials — namely, the white mesh and charcoal textile — it still captures the magic of the early-century release. With striking green accents at the tongue, heel, vamp, and outsole, an immediate association is made. In comparison to the Air Jordan 13, the pair is significantly lighter, thanks to the aforementioned mesh uppers, as well as the laces, straps, and midsole pods. Lastly, blacks are lightened to charcoal, and the midsole, mudguard, and heel overlay for a new-yet-familiar feel.
