Introducing the Jordan Defy SP
Jordan Brand’s non-Signature sneakers continue to Defy the critics.
Jordan Brand‘s endeavors into their all-new Flight Utility design language has hit more than just the Air Jordan 33, and Protro series — they’ve also made their way to their lifestyle division. And, much like the recent Protro series, this Jordan Defy SP continues to do just that — defy the critics.
Calling in a medley of materials, the Jordan Defy SP ushers in modernized mesh and TPU overlays, but falls back on classics like leather. suede and neoprene to put together the futuristic look. Nylon straps and a buckle system add reinforcement and lockdown, and extended pull tabs arrive for easy accessibility. It’s multi-layered, Zoom Air-filled sole unit is complex, to say the least, and it wouldn’t be Jordan Brand if it didn’t harken back to silhouettes past — the Air Jordan 6-like neoprene tongue and Air Jordan 4-esque toe cap overlays add a touch of nostalgia to the otherwise modernized design. From a colorway standpoint, JB has kept things simplistic with greys and whites paired with flashes of black, but have called upon Summer-ready pops of red and teal for a bit of extra sauce.
This debut Jordan Defy is available now at overseas stockists and will likely join the ranks of the Flight Utility-designed Jordans like Proto React and Proto Max 720 on Nike.com over the coming weeks. So until then, enjoy an official look at the debut pairing below, and keep your eyes peeled on our Jordan Release Dates page for updates to this drop!
