Outside of the signature retro lineage, Jordan Brand’s lifestyle options have always been hit or miss. Never a mainstay, silhouettes pop up and rarely return, besides perhaps the sporadic Trunner series. The Delta, which was introduced in April 2020, appears to be the next to get the go-ahead for a sophomore model, with the surfacing of the Jordan Delta 2 in its first four colorways.
The React-cushioned lifestyle sneaker has had some big names attached to it in its short lifespan, with CLOT’s Edison Chen one of the first to preview the pair, and Union LA delivering a high-top as part of their 2020 Jumpman collection. It’s hard to say of the Delta 2 will get the same attention as the 1, but what it has got a lot of is the same aesthetic. Keeping the deconstructed theme running, the Jordan Delta 2 goes heavy on suede and lose edging. Its sole unit, has been revamped to a more streamlined look, and even appears to take some cues from the Air Jordan 11. Plastic lateral supports are moved from the forefoot to the rear of the midfoot, and have been drastically increased in size. Uppers now rely on a contoured mesh piece for its bulk, but overall the shape and aesthetic remain in the same vein.
Grab a look at four of the silhouette’s first-up colorways here below, and if last year’s model was a yardstick, you can expect many, many more colorways to follow.
