Believe it or not, there was a time when hybrid Jordans were a hot commodity. Now they’re unfairly ridiculed for ‘not being an OG’ — like it makes you a better person to strictly rock retros or something. But there are a few of the OG mash-ups that will forever hold clout in the game, and this OG “Varsity Red” Jordan Dub Zero is one of them.
First released back in 2005, the laser-decorated hybrid was the very first retro mix-up of its kind, incorporating design elements from the Air Jordan 4, Air Jordan 6, Air Jordan 11, Air Jordan 12, Air Jordan 13, Air Jordan 15, Air Jordan 17 and Air Jordan 20. That’s a hell of a lot of shoes in one! It returned in 2020 for the silhouette’s 15th anniversary, and now, after just two years on the sidelines, the sneaker will return — again in its OG coloration, though this time it arrives with leather rear panels instead of the original’s woven.
