Update 06.21.23 Nike US has just released pairs of the Jordan MVP "Raptors" right here on their official webstore.

Original Post In the current era, Jordan Brand has primarily drawn inspiration from its own rich legacy for upcoming releases. The numbered signature line, in particular, is often guilty of this, with recent releases like the Air Jordan 36 and Air Jordan 34 paying homage to the Air Jordan 6 and Air Jordan 4, respectively, through their key design elements. Additionally, the brand has borrowed countless retro colorways and applied them to other silhouettes, like the upcoming Air Jordan 7 “White Infrared” which borrows the infamous Air Jordan 6 colorway.

While many of these designs showcase Jordan Brand DNA, hybrid shoes that blend unadulterated design elements from multiple signature models often receive criticism and ridicule. Despite this, designs like the Dub Zero to the Spiz’ike dominate brand sales. Now, another entrant has joined the long list of true Jordan hybrids, the Jordan MVP 678.

The Jordan MVP 678 takes its name from Michael Jordan’s first three NBA titles, during which he was awarded Finals MVP. The shoe pays tribute to all three of his signature sneakers from those years, with the upper incorporating design elements from the Air Jordan 6, Air Jordan 7, and Air Jordan 8. The tongue is a direct nod to the AJ7, while the sole unit draws inspiration from the AJ6. The multi-colored overlay on the heel and the fixture itself are reminiscent of the AJ8, completing the fusion of design elements from all three iconic silhouettes.

The first colorway appears to borrow the original Air Jordan 7 “Charcol” colors — a colorway also known as “Raptors”

While the brand has not yet announced a release date for the new Jordan MVP 678 "Raptors", the appearance of official images for the shoe suggests its release is imminent.

Until more details emerge, grab an updated look at the pair here below, and as always, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
