(The now former) VP of Design David Creech and co. have seamlessly incorporated Nike‘s newest tech, the React and Air Max 720 cushioning units, into a lifestyle-ready, ultra-high performance sneaker, all while maintaining a consistent minimal-futuristic vibe. Many of the releases thus fave have hinged towards the brand’s black and red heritage or the space-age palette, but this next-up Black/Gum Jordan Protro Max 720 deviates, reverting to a timeless trainer take.

Seen on just about every popular silhouette ever made, the go-to combo of black and gum is as classic as it gets. But when it comes to Jordan Brand’s Flight Utility range — nothings quite that simple. They’ve added in a metallic gold splash on the heel counter and branding hits, as to keep it feeling interstellar. For mine, though, the highlight of the shoe is that beautiful shade of gum — often favored, yet rarely seen when it comes to gum outsoles.
