Russell Westbrook’s Jordan Why Not Zer0.5 Revealed In Collaboration With Honor The Gift

Blurring the lines between staple essentials and avant-garde fashion, Russell Westbrook’s Honor The Gift Label has become one of Califonia’s most street-worthy labels since its founding in 2016. And now with the Brodie back home in Cali, he’s set to celebrate his debut season as a Laker with a special cross-collaboration on his fifth signature Air Jordan sneaker: the Honor The Gift x Jordan Why Not Zer0.5

The pair is set to be Brodie’s first release of his newest shoe — as this is also the first look at his newest design. And whilst it keeps a lot of past DNA present, it does bring some new features, including a lower cut, and a more streamlined midfoot.

The upper features Westbrook’s signature aggressive lines at the toe-box, midsole, heel, and lace collars to match his on-court mentality, while an in-vogue exposed-foam interior continues the “unfinished” aesthetic that has been a common theme in Nike and Jordan’s recent lifestyle offerings. Materials are off-kilter, too, with everything from nylon to corduroy to felt-like fabrications spotted throughout.

Keeping in theme with his label, the Honor The Gift x Jordan Why Not Zer0.5 goes heavy with logos as well; on the tongue is a rounded jewel featuring Westbrook’s logo rotated counter-clockwise 90 degrees, while HONOR THE GIFT is emblazoned on the heel clip above the flag-like symbol of the brand. Taking things to a subtle extreme, outsoles feature a heat map-like finish towards the toe, whilst insoles reflect a sky-like graphic also found on the special-edition packaging.

Update 01.06.22 A release date for the Honor The Gift x Jordan Why Not Zer0.5 has just been identified for February 17, 2022; Pairs will arrive right here on Nike.com from 10 am ET for $150. If you’re planning on picking up a pair on the day, make sure you head to our dedicated Jordan Release Dates Calendar to set yourself a reminder for the drop.
