With Luka Dončić’s explosion into what will become arguably one of the great professional basketball careers, the young Slovenian has already established some signature moves; none more potent than his step-back shot which, seemingly, never seems to miss when that game is on the line. With this move in mind, his sponsor in Jordan Brand has designed a special low-top sneaker dubbed the Jordan Zoom Separate.
It’s unlikely, though, that Luka will swap his on-court Air Jordan 36 for this lower-budget model, but it does indicate that there is room for future footwear projects for the prodigy. In fact, the silhouette was debuted by Bradley Beal — not Dončić — earlier this year in a triple black build, but the first release is one that harkens back to Mike’s Bulls, with a classic black, white and red render that’s unmistakably Jordan Brand.

It rocks a mix of lightweight synthetic materials across its upper, including a one-piece tongue/forefoot neoprene piece and a fit band-supported lacing system. Heel clips work with the latter to provide lateral stability, while a semi-exposed Zoom Air unit wrapped in a duo of foams provides the pop for that signature step-back separation.
Pairs of the Jordan Zoom Separate are already available in Japan, though a wider global rollout has not yet been indicated. It is likely that these will hit local Nike.com sites around the world unannounced, so be sure to keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
