Today, Laney High School officially unveiled it’s new gymnasium, along with several other upgrades around the building.
The currently unnamed gym will be branded as part of the Michael Jordan Sports Complex, replacing the old Michael Jordan Gym. At center-court is a large Jumpman logo in Buccaneer blue, symbolic of the school’s most famous alum. Additionally, there’s a Laney #23 jersey and full all-white Air Jordan Collection on display, as well as rare Jordan photos among a Laney Athletics Wall of Fame in a nearby hallway.
Other Laney expansions unveiled for the new school year include a media center, extra classrooms, locker rooms and an indoor track. We’ll be keeping a close eye on further developments to the GOAT’s former High School and we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop!
