There’s a lot of information surrounding Virgil Abloh and his collaborations with Nike over the past few days. Firstly, it was the reported return of another multi-pair collection dubbed “The 20”, then it was a release confirmation of two University Gold OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Forces 1s for July. Then it flowed through that there were five additional releases for the year, including the Futura Dunks. But above the trove of news stands one story, the release of the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 High “Canary Yellow” in 2021

Since the sample pair first surfaced at Virgil’s “Figures of Speech” exhibition at the MCA Chicago in mid 2019, the sneaker has been rumored to release at least on two occasions, both of which amounted to nothing. That is, until today, when confirmation came by-way-of Virgil himself. The subtle announcement came alongside six other confirmed releases today via his pop-up website, all of which arrived pixelated reading “ACTUALLY PENDING” — a sly crack at constant release rumors that often never eventuate.

We already know that the two OFF-WHITE x Air Force 1 Lows will be arriving in July, but as for the “Canary Yellow” OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 High? We’ll have to wait for some more information.
