The Orlando Magic visited the New York Knicks last night, taking a road victory. Paolo Banchero only played 12 minutes due to an early exit caused by a groin strain, but this was enough time for the forward to unveil a special pair of the Air Jordan 40 on-court.
Since signing with Jordan Brand in October 2022, the Washington-native has been one of the team's newer talents. He's helped showcase the performance reliability of a few Air Jordan models over the years, while also receiving his own Player-Exclusive (PE) versions. His aforementioned AJ40 is the latest special makeup to surface. The pair joins the forthcoming Air Jordan 40 collection inspired by past models from Michael Jordan's signature line. Effectively named the AJ4028, Banchero's newly-surfaced PE sees an upper and color scheme reminiscent of 2013's marquee silhouette. The Magic's forward wore the exclusive edition with the zippered collar turned down, showcasing his P5 emblem on the lateral heel.
The light blue and green color scheme seemingly nods to the Seattle Rotary Select Basketball program, the Boys & Girls Club AAU squad with which Banchero played growing up.
Enjoy a look at the AJ4028 ahead. It's unlikely Banchero's style ever releases via Nike.com/Jordan, but other hybrid pairs are expected between now and May 2026.
