Officially unveiled.
Although we knew it was coming, the man himself, Off-White mastermind Virgil Abloh, has officially unveiled his next Air Jordan 1 collaboartion at last night’s Met Gala in New York City.
They are of course the “UNC” editions that we’ve heard about for months, but last night was the first official sighting of them on the feet of their creator. Before the internationally-known soiree, Abloh took to the gram to tease the colorway, which had previously been kept well under wraps until a post by Victor Cruz last month.
And in classic Virgil style, he added his personal touch to the sneakers, scribing “for red carpet only” across the medial side of the left shoe. This is the second year in a row the designer has debuted a colorway of the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 on the Met Gala’s red carpet, with the Chigago colorway stealing the show in 2017.
But in 2018, he comes with a new title; Head of Menswear at Louis Vuitton. And LV is what he was wearing, of course, arriving in a brand new Louis Vuitton suit that is literally off-white in color.
The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 “UNC” is expected to release on June 9, 2018, with the date still yet to come for his debut LV range.
